After playing basketball at UC Irvine, Kim’s fitness journey included intermittent workouts with no specific goals in mind. It wasn’t until 2018 when she moved to Nebraska that she found CrossFit at the age of 47. Kim’s experience coaching youth sports and her ability to build relationships with kids while having a positive influence on their health is what led her to become more involved in the CrossFit community. In 2022, she received her CrossFit Kids certification and is currently in charge of the Kinesis Youth Program. When coaching, Kim’s superpower is her ability to connect with kids and meet them where they are at. Her favorite Girl WOD is Grace, her favorite Hero WOD is Kandi Baxter, and her favorite movements include double unders, deadlifts, power cleans, & walking overhead lunges. If Kim could pick one song as her Official Hype Song, it would be “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga. What Kim is most proud of is her family. She and her husband, Cory, have three talented and athletic daughters, Corinne, Cameron, and Chloe. They still eat dinner together 4-6 times per week and make it a priority to workout together throughout the week. Building such a strong family bond is her biggest accomplishment.
