Bob’s CrossFit journey began in 2014 when his 16-year-old son wanted to start weightlifting with him. Since he had no formal training, he chose to enroll them both in CrossFit. His first workout only required one piece of equipment…a medicine ball. It was Karen. In 2020, Bob started coaching as a volunteer for a program that brought CrossFit to communities considered “at-risk” and that may not have access to CrossFit for a variety of reasons. When coaching, Bob’s superpower would be his knowledge on how to take care of the body before and after class…essentially the hours when members are not training. He has longevity in mind for his athletes and wants them moving well for the long-term. Bob’s favorite Girl WOD is Karen…never forgetting his first, his favorite Hero WOD is Kerrie, and his favorite movements are Wall Walks. If he could pick one song as his Official Hype Song, it would be “Something for Nothing” by The Foo Fighters. As an athlete, one of Bob’s greatest accomplishments is placing 45th in the CrossFit Games Age Group Qualifier (55-59) in 2019. Bob is husband to his wife, Leslie, and has a son named, Jack. Once he finishes his current career as an actuary, he has plans to continue to study the science behind how and why we age.
